The construction of this bulding started in 1885 and it was completed in 1904. 2) Old photos of Budapest - Elisabeth Bridge Elisabeth Bridge is the 3rd newest bridge in Budapest. As you can see in the pictures, it looks quite different now then it did in the past. The original bridge was built between 1897 and 1903 and unfortunately it was blown up during World War II by German armed forces. It was completely distroyed, therefore a new bridge was built instead of it, on the same location, between 1961–1964. 3) Old photos of Budapest - Fisherman's Bastion The Fisherman's Bastion is one of the most magical buildings in Budapest. It is a terrace built in neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque style and it is situated on the Castle hill by the Matthias church. It was built between 1895 and 1902. It has seven towers that represent the seven Magyar tribes that settled in the Carpathian Basin in 896. It was named after the fishermen that were responsible for defending the walls of the Buda Castle in the Middle Ages. 4) Old photos of Budapest - Chain Bridge The Chain Bridge is the most beautiful and probably the most photographed bidge in Budapest.
