veteramaVETERAMA – the rolling legend on the road again!

Eurama Travel Agency, Veterama 1962under the name of „Veterama” has further expanded its bus park, and acquired an original Ikarus 630 Cabrio bus from the ’60s.

The first open-deck Ikarus bus made its first sightseeing tour on 17th May 1962 – 45 years earlier – getting the foreign visitors acquainted with the major sights of Budapest. Due to the beautiful tracing and clear forms the new vehicle became extremely popular, and soon other two Cabrios followed. The buses became the symbol of the Hungarian tourism, and being „the draw of the Capital”, they were shown on numerous posters, brochures, stamps propagating Budapest. The carrier of the three sightseeing buses came to an end on 4th January 1975, but not for good!

Veterama 2007Since May 2007 the rolling legend has been back in the streets. Its restoring to the original condition was based on contemporary documentation and photographs. Eurama Travel Agency commemorates the golden age of the Hungarian sightseeing bus tours. It is nostalgic thinking back of the times when human needs were considered when designing these buses.

„Veterama” can be rented for weddings, excursions and other programmes as well.
